Welcome to the Team: Crystal

Hello! My name is Crystal Chiglinsky and I’m working with Memunatu Magazine as the School Coordinator. I’m a daughter and granddaughter of teachers, so education is very important to me.  After college, I spent three summers teaching at a small Kenyan school, where I saw firsthand how education can empower young girls, and through them, whole communities. I’ve also worked on health programs in Haiti and refugee programs in Virginia.  I’m a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Virginia and earned a Master’s Degree in Human Rights from the University College Dublin in Ireland. I did my thesis on how female health practices in Kenya are affected by better education. I love travel, photography, and reading as much as I can. I think there are few things more important than empowering and educating young girls, and that’s why I’m thrilled to work with schools and teachers with Memunatu!
