Memunatu Magazine Launches #WomanVision2020Challenge to Amplify Women and Girls’ Voices

Date: Friday, March 6, 2020

WASHINGTON, DC, March 6–To mark International Women’s Day, Memunatu is announcing the #WomanVision2020Challenge, a crowdfunding and storytelling campaign where people worldwide can donate to provide Memunatu print publication to adolescent girls in Africa and the African diaspora.

“Women’s stories are powerful, particularly for underrepresented girls who do not typically see themselves represented in media,” said Mariama Kabia, Co-Founder of Memunatu—a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that empowers African girls through a platform spanning print, digital, and events. With content that increases girls’ potential and life skills, Memunatu enables girls to tackle issues that impact their lives.

Through March 31st, people world-wide can donate to the crowdfunding campaign then share their stories on social media using #WomanVision2020Challenge and tagging Memunatu Magazine (@MemunatuMag). By participating in the campaign, people help ensure that underrepresented girls, through Memunatu, can share and amplify their own stories as well.

In telling powerful video stories, Memunatu has teamed up with Crouching Tiger LLC, a purpose-driven led photo and video content company for non-profit and socially-driven led businesses that are making a positive impact in their sectors.

“Founding and operating a woman-owned business, I understand the power and necessity to encourage and lift up women in every stage of their lives” said Crouching Tiger LLC Founder, Eva Cruz. “There is a benefit of amplifying women’s stories, which let other women know they are not alone and can accomplish their goals.”
