As you read this, we are likely packing and getting ready to travel home for the Thanksgiving holiday. Before we head out, we wanted to say thank you for your support!

People are key to Memunatu’s success. Writers, funders, and partners ensure that Memunatu as a 501(c)(3) non profit organization committed to empowering girls, has a positive impact on adolescent girls in Africa and the diaspora.

Here are some amazing people we’d like to highlight:

To the Memunatu Leadership Council
You’ve joined phone calls and meetings to provide advice and strategy for growth across the organization. We are so glad to have you with us. Special shout outs go to H.E. Dr Banda for filming a video while traveling and Liz Ngonzi for all-hands-on-deck Day of the Girl support (not to mention for being up for taking this photo at Candid/ The Foundation Center).

To Our Readers
You’ve sent feedback on what you liked, described your ideas for the future, and shared updates on the amazing work you are doing. Thanks for continuing to inspire us!

To Memunatu Ambassadors
You volunteer your time and energy to support Memunatu Magazine outreach– whether by encouraging friends to follow us on social media or organizing a panel in your community. Thank you (and stay tuned for an upcoming group call).

To Our Partners
You have been part of such exciting collaborations with YALI and Princeton in Africa. Thanks for introducing Memunatu to your communities this year!

New York Changemakers
Thank you for the warm welcome! It was great to meet on October 11th for International Day of the Girl and it was energizing to celebrate girls’ voices. We look forward to collaborating on storytelling and impact in early 2020 (more to come, hints on the way)!
Last, but certainly not least…

Memunatu Day of the Girl 2019

Thank YOU, reading this email. You have played a role in our journey and we are so grateful.

To get involved this holiday season, the best way to have an impact is to donate. What your impact could look like: $30 can provide print publication to one student, $50 can provide Memunatu to digital subscribers for a month, and more! Donate here

Not in a place to contribute? You can also provide an introduction to someone we should meet– a school/program who could use Memunatu or a potential funder who could have positive impact.

Thanks again and have a wonderful holiday!

Sincerely,
Mariama and Fatmata Kabia
