ECOSOC Youth Forum 2026

From April 14-16, the ECOSOC Youth Forum brought together young people, United Nations (UN) entities, and Member States to the UN headquarters in New York City. This year’s theme focused on transforming equitable, innovative, and coordinated actions for the UN’s 2030 Agenda. Hear what young Africans had to say at the 2026 forum:

Esenam Amuzu, Sexual Reproductive Health Advocate and Gender Expert

“One of the biggest outcomes I hope comes […] is a shift from youth inclusion to youth integration, where young people are not just consulted, but actively shaping and implementing solutions within systems.”

Eugenia Boateng, Founder and Executive Director African Diaspora Youth Hub

“The doors are opening, and intercultural learning is what ensures that when you walk through them, you are ready not just to participate, but to build.”

Joyceline A. Kwarko, Impact Coordinator, Africa Region, AFS Youth Assembly

The momentum doesn’t stop here!

The insights from the Forum will help inform:

July 2026: High-Level Political Forum (HLPF)

Dec 2026: 2026 UN Water Conference

Sept 2027: SDG Summit 2027
