Call for Submissions- Women’s History Month 2024

We are thrilled to open a call for submissions in March for Women’s History Month! Submissions are for placement in Memunatu Magazine’s upcoming print issue as well as Memunatu Magazine digital.

Memunatu Magazine is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on media for teenage girls (10-17 years old) in Africa and the diaspora. Our goal is to create content that encourages girls to be the writers, readers, and leaders of their own narratives.

Theme: “Sign Our Yearbook”

Memunatu Magazine invites people of all ages, globally to submit a yearbook message to our readers. This message is meant to be a “yearbook message” for the school year (August 2023 through today) that either remarks about the year so far or provides well wishes for what’s ahead. Some examples include the following:

  • A description of something amazing you’ve done this year that you’re particularly proud of
  • A goal you’re setting for yourself or an aspiration you’re working towards
  • Advice for girls in secondary school

You have the option of either typing a text response or submitting a recording. For either method, please review our Contributor Agreement before clicking submit.

To submit your story, use this form here: https://forms.gle/mVMW4cCRxD8aDLr57

Deadline for submissions: March 29th at 11:59 pm PT
