Shira's Memunatu Magazine Headshot

Hi! My name is Shira Wolkenfeld and I was born and raised in Berkeley, California. I’m currently a Junior in the Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University, majoring in Middle East Studies and minoring in Arabic and Geography. I love learning languages and have spent extensive time abroad in Argentina, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Israel and Morocco. I’ve always been passionate about girls empowerment and education, and I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Memunatu team as a Program Intern to contribute to the mission of empowering young women in Africa!
