Welcome to the Team: Matilde

Hello! I am Matilde and I am a senior majoring in International Relations with a concentration in Human Rights at American University. I am originally from Macau, a former Portuguese colony that is located right next to Hong Kong. I will be serving as an event intern for Memunatu Magazine this fall. I am very passionate about human rights, Southeast Asian Studies and cultures, and global development. At school, I am one of the e-board members of the Southeast Asian Student Network. As an e-board member, I have hosted events such as panels on campus and embassy visit in order to facilitate cultural understanding. In my free time, I like hiking, reading, and traveling. Last spring break, I visited Utah and so far that is my favorite location in the US. Words just can’t describe how spectacular the natural sceneries in Utah are!
